One of the monthly deductions from an employee’s salary is
the PhilHealth contribution. Your premium contribution is determined in line with your basic salary.
For example if you have a basic salary of Php7,000.00 and
below, you will fall under salary bracket 1.
This means that your
total monthly contribution is Php200.00, but you will not shoulder all of it. You and your employer
will equally divide the payment for your contribution; therefore, 200/2 = Php100.00
Php100.00 will be deducted once a month from your
salary, mostly from the first salary schedule. This is so because the payment
must be made before the 10th day of the month.
As a member of PhilHealth, you’re entitled of their benefit coverage
packages.
This coverage includes inpatient coverage, outpatient coverage, and special
benefit packages; however, there are also exclusions to these benefits.
